Teen Counselling
Counselling for Teens
Adolescence can be a challenging and confusing time. Many teens juggle school pressure, changing friendships, family expectations, identity exploration, and the emotional ups and downs that come with growing independence. When life feels overwhelming, having a safe, supportive space to talk can make a meaningful difference.
I provide counselling for teens who need a calm, confidential place to reflect, build confidence, and learn practical tools to navigate life more effectively. Sessions are warm, youth‑friendly, and grounded in evidence‑based approaches that help young people feel understood and empowered.
Support areas can include:
Perfectionism, people-pleasing, or low self-esteem
Parent separation or family conflict
Trauma, grief and loss
Anxiety, depression, or emotional dysregulation
School-related stressors – eg. exam pressure, academic withdrawal, attendance concerns
Social stressors – eg. conflict, bullying, friendship changes, isolation
Exploring identity, self-expression, boundaries and autonomy
Life transitions – including starting high school, graduating and leaving school, or gaining full time employment
If your teen is struggling with something not listed here, you’re welcome to reach out — support is always tailored to their individual needs.
Teens often leave sessions feeling lighter, more empowered, and more in touch with who they truly are.
How Teens Benefit from Counselling:
Sessions are designed to help teens feel comfortable, respected, and in control of their own story. This means that sessions are led by them and give them autonomy in what they share, how they share it, and what areas are focused on. Depending on their preferences, sessions may include:
Learning emotional regulation strategies
Talking through worries or challenges
Exploring thoughts and feelings
Building and practicing skills
Creative or hands-on activities to support expression
The goal is to empower teens with improved self-awareness, coping strategies that feel right for them, and to trust in their capacity to navigate stress long after counselling ends.
Most teens leave sessions feeling:
Lighter and more able to cope
More confident in who they are
Better equipped to manage emotions
More connected to themselves and others
Supported, heard and not alone in what they are facing.
